The night before First Grade

Well, I put Elizabeth to bed at 9pm. I told her that when she woke up in the morning she would be an official first grader. I can't believe it myself.

It seems like yesterday we brought her home from the hospital and the feeling that it would be y--e---a---r---s before we had to think about first days of schools. I have done first days since she was 3 1/2 and you would think that each year would get easier. In some ways it does, the need for that daily routine, watching her grow into such an incredible little girl. But in some ways it hurts to, my heart aches for my little girl. Each year brings new challenges both in education and socially. It is the social that I worry about. I have heard stories of "mean girls" in first grade. It blows my mind.

Tomorrow also starts my third year at my preschool that I work at. It will be my second year teaching. I am excited to see what this year will bring and nervous at the same time. I start this year with only 3 classes left to finish my AS degree. I met all the children in my class for this year last Friday and they are a WONDERFUL bunch of children and parents. I feel blessed to be where I am.

I am babbling, I seem to do this when I get a blog. I will have to remember how to post pictures at some point, but really, they are all on my facebook page so that would be double duty.

Off to bed, sweet dreams my little first grader :)

Blogs

I just spent the past half hour looking over blogs that people actually update on a regular basis, amazing concept, huh?

It got me thinking about my neglected Elizabeth blog and my scrapbooking blog. I guess I need to get better. But will I be writing for myself or for people who will actually read it?

I have spent way too much time on Facebook and need to make this my "new thing". Some how this seems so much more productive than harvesting my farm, keeping up my restaurant, and pretending to be a mobster.

So here I am once again, making a promise to keep my blog up to date. Wish me luck!

Elizabeth took her first scrapbook class may4th and made a cute Mother's Day present. It was a heart shaped chipboard album. I am so excited that she is old enough to scrapbook with me. It is one of my favorite things that we do together.

This is Ridiculous

so silly that I can't even spell tonight. I need to get this blog back up and running so that you all can keep up to date with us.

I just got a new laptop this past week so I just need to get my pics off Jim's computer so that I can share some with you.

A quick update.....

Elizabeth turned 5 back in March. She is going to preschool 5 days a week this year, her last day is May 23rd. I have registered her for kindergarten in the fall. She has officially grown up before my eyes. I am teaching at her preschool this year as well. I went back to school in January 2007 to start my AS in Early Childhood Education. I am loving every minute of teaching and I am looking forward to coming back next year. This is my last week of college for this semester and then I will only be 7 classes away from completing my AS. So hopefully next year at this time I will be announcing my graduation.

I do have a few pics from March on this computer so let me post one of those for you :) This one was taken at Fort Wilderness in Disney. We spent a weekend there in March to celebrate her 5th birthday.

Being the slacker that I am, I am again apoligizing for not putting up more pictures. My classes end next week so I am hoping to have more time, I have a ton of pictures to share. Tish, Kim, and Dakota came down for a visit and we all went to Disney so I have so many cute pics to share. Here is one that I took this month of Elizabeth, she is wanting to grow her bangs out, they are starting to get to that awkward stage....we shall see how long this lasts.

New Smyrna Beach

Taken back in July when we went with a friend and her son up to New Smyrna Beach. We had an absolute blast! I love this beach better than the ones we have, totally worth the 45 minute drive.

My Girl

Elizabeth and PopPop

Taken a couple weeks ago at my dad's house. She loves to be in the pool. In fact this day we were out there from 11am until 1pm. I wish we could get over there more often, and when we finally make plans to it has been raining lately. Maybe this week sometime :) 

Dance Class

This picture was taken last Monday before her first dance class. She seems to really like it and her teacher is super sweet. They do ballet for the first 30 minutes and tap for the last 30 minutes. It was a studio recommended from a girl from church and so far it is wonderful. Elizabeth loves "practicing" in the living room. One day I will be organized enough to get it on video :)

This picture was taken last Thursday. I was really sick so Jim came home from work early so that I could get some rest. While I was sleeping they built a castle out of ABC mats. Jim took this cute pic of her. I just love her smile. 

Knocked Out

This pic was taken Wednesday night. She was so tired but was fighting going to bed by telling me she was hungry (this is actually a nightly issue right now) so I let her come downstairs to have a cereal bar, well as you can see, she fell asleep on Jim's chair after only one bite.

Bean's First Day of Preschool

Once again I find myself apoligizing for not updating in so long. Elizabeth started her first day of PRESCHOOL last Tuesday. She is going on Tuesdays and Thursday's from 9-12. So far she is loving it, she has a great teacher and the moms that I have met so far seem nice. I am still in disbelief that my 3 pound baby girl is in school now. She keeps telling me that she is a big girl now. Does she have to remind me?

Last week she also started dance class, it is a ballet/tap combo class. She goes once a week on Mondays. When she came out of class last week she goes "Mommy I danced! Can we come back tomorrow?" It was so cute!
